A writing skill workshop is a structured learning approach where students engage in various writing activities, receive feedback, and refine their writing skills. The process typically consists of several key steps, guiding writers from brainstorming ideas to producing a polished final draft. Writing requires a combination of various skills to effectively convey ideas, engage readers, and communicate messages clearly.
Course Content
Defining Purpose: Defining the purpose of writing for informing, persuading, entertaining, or expressing thoughts and identifying the audience
Organization and Structure: Organizing ideas logically and structure writing to flow smoothly and making sense to the reader
Language and Style: Using appropriate language, tone, and style in a piece of writing
Word Choice: Choosing precise and vivid words to convey the intended meaning effectively, while avoiding clichés, jargon, and ambiguous language
Editing: Editing and proofreading written work, paying attention to detail to create a powerful piece of writing
Target audience
- Students in middle and high school
