The Teachers Collective is happy to announce our summer program for Study Skills and Debating at Atta Galatta in Koramangala.
Study skills are skills that enable you to study and learn efficiently, an important set of transferable life skills that will hold you in good stead at all ages and levels of education. Regardless of which grade one is or course of study they engage in, the ability to learn, retain, and retrieve information is crucial.
The week long Study Skills workshop by The Teachers Collective will take you through internationally proven methods of studying which include making sense of content in your text books to taking notes effectively and efficiently. You will learn how to approach ANY math problem through a structured approach and learn to structure your answers to demonstrate your understanding.
Conducted by teachers with over 20 years of combined experience, you will experience study skills in a customized, hands-on way. We believe that all learning has to be fun and our programs incorporate fun as a legitimate teaching method!
Age: 10 years – 16 years
When: May 6th – 10th
Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

We strongly encourage parents to stay and observe, so that they can support their children after the workshop.
Debating is an important skill for negotiating our way through life effectively and efficiently. As people, we need to learn to communicate well, listening actively while we are at it. We need to question rationally and come up with solutions where none exist. Recognizing logical fallacies, using reason and evidence to support our assertion, researching facts using credible sources, etc. are all skills that empower us. Our program focuses on helping children become mindful of their self regulation, communication and organizational skills and getting better through hands-on activities and opportunities for practice.
The Debating program has been tested by 270 students in a school setting in the academic year 2018-19 and has benefited from 9 iterations of content and activities. We have worked with students who shiver at the thought of standing in front of an audience as well as extroverts who benefit from their content being refined and thinking made more logical. Our students assess themselves at the beginning of the program and again at the end. The shifts we have seen are significant. At the end of the day, how we think of ourselves is what contributes to our self esteem and all our students confess to feeling more confident after going through the program.
