Passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs, Parul Mathur, is a passionate multilingual RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) certified special educator with a practitioner’s license, based in Bangalore. A dedicated Special Educator with a wealth of experience in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, her goal is to empower every student to achieve their full potential, regardless of their unique challenges.
Having achieved a Master’s degree in Human Development, Physiological & Neurological Disabilities from Spastic Society Mumbai, she brings a wide range of expertise in the areas of Learning Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Down’s Syndrome and Intellectual Disabilities. Her academic journey has equipped her with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to address the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
With 20+ years of experience in the field of special education, she has had the privilege of working with students across various age groups and diverse learning/life needs. Her professional journey as a special educator started as faculty at Disha – A Resource Centre for Multiple Disabilities in Jaipur where she trained upcoming special education professionals and supported them in acquiring the knowledge and talents necessary to meet the unique needs and demands of children with disabilities. Moving to a mainstream setup, she joined a CBSE school in Bangalore and led the SEN team to create awareness and build advocacy to strengthen the ecosystem within the organization.
Finally, she found her calling with the creation of The Teachers Collective , where as a Co-Founder, she works towards creating academically engaging learning experiences for all children and supports teachers in creating lesson plans that capture the diverse learning abilities in classrooms.
Throughout her career, she has received recognition for her contributions to inclusive education, whether through successful inclusion programs, improved student outcomes, or positive feedback from parents and colleagues. Some of the awards she has received from the industry are an outstanding performer at TISS course in Inclusive Education and Reliance Foundation Teacher award for outstanding performance in the CENTA Olympiad (TPO) 2022. These achievements fuel her dedication to create positive change in the lives of her students.
